Why fruit flies?

Drosophila melanogaster is:

New Stocks - Super Recombination for combining transgenes 

The Super Recombinase (SuRe) system, from the Schnitzer lab, enables two to many insertions in the same attP landing site to be recombined onto the same chromosome using simple genetic crosses. See our SuRe page for more details.
